About FireWatch
FireWatch is a Java based Android application designed to help users who live in wildfire prone areas. The application offers real-time location data on wildfires, severity levels of those wildfires, and gives users the ability to upload their own data on wildfires in their area.
During the second semester of my junior year I took a course called Mobile Programming I. In this course we were talk the basics of creating Android applications. We started the course by creating smaller projects like apps that used Google Maps API and apps that required sending data/variables to new activities via intent. My classmates and I were able to take the knowledge we gained from these smaller projects and incorporate them into our final project. This course was a ton of fun and really got me into the world of programming.
